With a starting salary for a newly graduated teacher of between €36,000 - €37,600, teaching really can be a fantastic profession for those with a passion for it. And now seems a great time to seriously consider this vocation as hundreds of extra teacher-training places are to be provided amid concerns of a "crisis" in the supply of teachers in key subjects.
